As of today, it is currently the training facility used by the occupants of both Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River.
The Marine Corps Outlying Field Camp Davis was originally used to train anti-aircraft artilleries by the US Army. Soon after between 1942 and 1043, a 1500-meter runway was built as an initiative for the camp’s Army Airfield.
